I recently found out that a young Trans youth that I knew decided to end his life. His transition had not been received well by some and he told me how lonely his journey seemed. LGBT youth are almost five times as likely to suicide compared to heterosexual youth, even then it is the second leading cause of death among young people ages 10 to 24 according to CDC statistics. To honor his life and wish him well on his journey I painted a pastel seascape, waves crashing over rocks while in the background a sailboat moves out and away for smooth sailing.
